Making New Memories – 1st Holiday season after Relocation

We all know how hard it can be to start over.  I have relocated many times in my life – as a child and wife of an engineer.

Moving with young children can be somewhat easier for the transition since you can get involved with other parents right away.  However it’s more of a challenge when you’re moving alone or with a significant other.

The first holiday season in your new home can be rough. It can feel like your house is empty of memories, and that’s okay. Nothing will ever compare to your first memories of Christmas morning and the house that Santa snuck down into to leave you gifts for the first time. However, a new home can be a perfect opportunity to start new traditions with the one’s you love.

The holiday season also plays host to countless events where you can mingle with your community. Our area is thriving with holiday events worth remembering. If you’re in Grand Rapids and this article resonates with you, I encourage you to try some of these great local events:

– Fall color tour

– Wine Tour

– Lighting of the Christmas Tree

– Christmas Parades

– Grand Rapids Ballet – The Nut Cracker

– Grand Rapids Symphony Holiday Pops

– Meijer Gardens – Christmas and Holiday traditions around the world
