Art Prize returns for the 3rd year, Grand Rapids Art Museum had over 80,000 visitors at the Princess Dianna Exhibit, In January 2011 Spectrum health had conducted 3 more heart transplants, Nationally well known Ruth Chris Steak House will be opening at the Amway hotel – Downtown Grand Rapids – community events are on the rise – such as dine out for life grand rapids, 5 x 5 night (way to win money for an idea) and support to our local musicians and Juvenile diabetes a day of live music at Wealthy Theater and 1st annual Laugh fest; we were visited by Bill Cosby and Betty White along with some other great comedians to raise money for Gilda’s Club .  Big name movies are continuing to be filmed in GR with the great tax incentives and we are still getting wonderful concerts weather it be local music in the park or big names like Bob Seger, Kenny Chesney and Lady Gaga at the Van Andel Arena. No wonder the Men’s Journal named us at one of the top 18 coolest cities to live – their quote “Perfecting the art of living well”.
