I was reading the news on line from Wood TV and they were talking about a staycation! That most people were not traveling this year because of the price of gas. I have to admit, I was shocked at the price of airline tickets when I was checking for flights to various locations. So, I think we are having a staycation!

This is not a completely a bad thing…………I think people always believe somewhere else is better. We get accustom to our local area and take it for granted and stop looking for all the great things our local area has to offer. It would also be nice to see our local residents spend their money here and help our local economy………….as I am sure you feel the same way where ever you live.

So for the next few weeks I am going to highlight some places to visit and things to do here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I think we can all be a “tourist” in our own city, and check out some places we have not been in a long time or NEVER have visited.
