Boy do I love the zoo! Where ever I have lived I have visited the local zoo! I just love the animals and watching them interact with each other.

Grand Rapids has a great Zoo to visit. They are getting some new additions to the zoo as well. They are celebrating the state-of-the-art exhibit featuring a pride of three African lions – one male and two females, two viewing bomas (authentic Tanzanian dwelling huts), a three-story viewing tower, heated and cooled rocks and, of course, a climbing tree.

Some of highlights of the zoo are:

• Treasures of the Tropics Building

• Living Shores Aquarium

• Adventure World – Children’s Zoo

• Sting Ray Lagoon

• Far Side of the World Trail

If you become a member of the Zoo, they have a reciprocal list of Zoo’s, meaning if you show your membership card and photo ID you can visit these other Zoo’s for free or at a reduced cost………now this something I did not know!

John Ball Park Zoo is having a party and a fundraiser……….sounds like fun! Friday June 13th starting at 7:00pm, called let it ROAR! There will be gourmet food and music by sweet Japonic.
