Spring is here!

Let me first start off by saying I am sorry I have not been here in a couple of weeks.  You can tell spring has arrived in East Grand Rapids.  So to all of our subscribers, I apologize!  I am back now and wanted to fill you in what has been happening around town.

You can tell spring is here in East Grand Rapids.  Many reasons!

Real Estate sales are up, homes are selling and life is good right now.  I must admit I was a little worried once the lending market got even tougher.  Credit scores have to be a little better then in the past, most all 100 percent loans went away (however I still know of one for low to moderate income home buyers!) Thank goodness FHA has stayed pretty much the same.  There are homes in EGR that fit the criteria for an FHA loan and this is good.  One of my favorite loans due to the fact the loan is assumable!  So if buying a home with a FHA loan, and lets say you got a 6.2 percent interest rate;  then 5 years from now you decided to sell, some one (if they meet the guidelines for FHA) can assume the loan.  Now later on when the interest rates go back up, what great selling feature you will have in your investment!

The seniors are getting ready for graduation.  Our daughter is graduating high school this year and EGR is just a place that celebrates the grads!  There will be graduation parties from May till July!  So when you live in a small town like EGR, everyone is invited to everyones party!  The high school has a lock in over night party for the students as well.  They are all getting ready for college and are excited for the next stage of their life.

Spring break started today!  My husband flew in from out of town, and reported that the airport was very busy.  Now we rarely have a busy airport.  However spring break is different.  Everyone is going somewhere.  Many families will travel together or meet up at the same resort.  Some go to visit family and then there is us........ we hang out.  As a Realtor this is my busy time for out of town - relocation clients.  They are using their spring break to come in and check out the area.  So our vacation will be next month!

Many people are getting their flower gardens ready for blooming and planning their deck containers.  We all share idea's and pass along the split plants to each other.  Boy, do I need to split a few plants!  My splits will have to wait for the fall as I am giving mine to F.L.O.W.  www.flowgr.com

You
can feel spring in the air, people are happy, smiling and socializing!  We are talking to each other in our yards and catching up on what we have missed over the winter.

I love spring and I love spring in EGR!
