Born and raised in the southeast side of Grand Rapids, I went to St. Stephen grade school and Catholic Central High School, graduating in 1984. From there it was over to Milwaukee where I earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Marquette University in 1988. It was a 4-1/2 year stint because I was having way too much fun in Milwaukee.
From there I went to work for a small engineering consultant in the NW suburbs of Chicago. I had a great boss and enjoyed the work there for 4 years. Without 10 years experience, finding a civil engineering job in GR was impossible , so I switched to sales. First selling concrete wall forms and then on to Surveying Instruments and GPS equipment, which I enjoyed doing for 4 years.
I then leapt into the mortgage business, after much research, in 1997. In 2003 Kevin Polakovich and I formed Treadstone Mortgage and open our doors in January 2004. We currently have about 40 employees and are continuing to grow.
We broker mostly purchase transactions as that is the key to longevity in our business. We are a full service broker including Conventional, Jumbo , FHA and VA loans, home equity, construction ...etc. Low overhead and a large volume of loans make us more competive than banks and other lenders.
